Open Up is looking for Product Owners, Project Managers, and Researchers.

OpenUp is a civic technology organisation that seeks to empower people and government,
through data, technology and innovative thinking, to become active agents in creating positive
social change. We partner with government, civil society, and industry leaders and to identify,
gather and make accessible information that supports open communities and an empowered
citizenry.

OpenUp is currently looking to fill the following fixed-term, part-time positions in 2021:

Energy, Mobility and Agriculture Innovation program

Seedstars and Shell Foundation have joined forces to look for sustainable, scalable and innovative working towards access to energy, sustainable agriculture* and mobility.

The objective of this program is to support, catalyse and train early-stage (seed) tech startups addressing challenges related to access to energy (household energy, energy for business, energy nexus), sustainable agriculture (value chain innovations improving access to finance, technology, market or knowledge) or sustainable mobility (safe rural and last-mile mobility for people and goods) in Africa.

The Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity (AFRE)

The Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity (AFRE) is a leadership development programme based at Columbia University in the US and the Nelson Mandela Foundation in SA.

Decolonising Digital: A British Council fellowship

The British Council, in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh, has developed a bespoke fellowship opportunity for early-career researchers from Africa who are living and working on the continent.

The successful candidate will undertake a 7 month research fellowship based with IASH at the University of Edinburgh, starting in April 2021. They will receive a stipend of £1,300 per month, a £1,000 travel grant and assistance with the UK visa application process and costs.

During their fellowship they will work closely with British Council experts in the UK and Africa to refine and shape the direction of their research and its outputs. There will be further opportunities to share, disseminate and apply the findings of the research in collaboration with the British Council in Africa once the fellowship is completed
