Initiative Description
SEMA is an SMS chatbot that facilitates feedback about public institutions and public service delivery. Citizens can send text messages to a public institution after they've engaged with that institution. By sending a text to a particular reserved number, users of a public institution have the ability to (anonymously) say things like, "you are corrupt" or "thanks for the help".SEMA is a data-focused project seeking to improve public services. With the data it collects on citizens' feedback about public institutions, SEMA then translates the data into recommendations for improved service delivery. SEMA analyses the data and provide insightful (monthly) data reports and recommendations to public partners to facilitate improvement. There are about 7,000+ people using their tool for feedback in Kampala.
