Brief overview of the Case Study
“Chad Innovation represents a community of young volunteers, Chadians and foreigners, entrepreneurs, executives, students whose objective is to raise awareness, mobilize, engage and equip young Chadians to learn and explore careers in entrepreneurship to build a resilient generation. young Chadian leaders.
Chad Innovation Hub undersigned the Africa Innovation Policy Manifesto, they, innovation community leaders and entrepreneurs across Africa, come united in diversity to articulate and share their views and recommendations for policies that they believe will accelerate digital transformation and contribute to a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable development of their economies and societies. Youth, creatives, entrepreneurs and innovation communities are central to solution building, policymaking and lasting change. And, they are ready and willing to strategically engage with policymakers to further this agenda.
They undersigned the Tech4Democracy, a Danish-led initiative that brings together representatives from governments, multilateral organisations, tech industry and civil society to make technology work for democracy and human rights, not against them.
They undersigned The Global Open Science Hardware (GOSH) Manifesto, seeking to reduce barriers between diverse creators and users of scientific tools to support the pursuit and growth of knowledge.”
The challenge or problem
Entrepreneurship and innovation had, over the course of the past few decades, fallen into a lull in Chad. As a result of this, stagnation had begun to spread across the country. The Chadian economy suffered severe blows as a result of this and Chad Innovation Hub seeks to rectify these.
The solution that was implemented
By educating young Chadians and emphasising the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship, Chad Innovation Hub has begun to spread its knowledge across the country.
What results were achieved?
Chad Incubation Hub provides a collaborative workspace that will allow young people to incubate their ideas and turn them into businesses. A hub for workshops, conferences, case studies and peer-to-peer sessions related to smart technology, business, society and infrastructure.
Lessons and recommendations
The establishment of a mentoring system has been incredibly helpful. It will coach young people on real business projects and will also give the opportunity to any young executive to undertake through coaching sessions on concrete projects that he will entrust to young talents selected by the incubator.
