Speaker Bio
Robyn Pasensie is a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town and researcher at the NGO My Vote Counts (MVC). Her work at MVC focuses on the broad thematic area of money in politics. This is to understand how money and private interest could influence political decision making and governance. This includes, but is not limited to, research and advocacy on issues of corruption, private and public funding frameworks in South Africa, procurement, monitoring and compliance of the Political Party Funding Act (PPFA) and access to information. Robyn holds an Madmin and Badmin Hons (cum laude) in Political Studies from the University of the Western Cape and a BA in International Relations and Diplomacy from UNISA.
