Speaker Bio

Emmanuel is an agricultural engineer and a specialist researcher in agricultural mechanisation and precision farming. I hold PhD in Agricultural machinery Engineering from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala. My research focus is in drudgery reduction and development of appropriate innovations and technologies to make agriculture efficient and attractive to the youth. I am interested in research into AI and robotics in agriculture for accurate detection of plant health, moisture, nutrient stress, weed, pest and disease loads on farms, especially among smallholder farmers in Africa.
