Initiative Description
Lungisa is a community monitoring and reporting tool in South Africa. Tell us about a service delivery problem you face, and we'll work to have your problem fixed. We're right now focusing on townships and other under-served areas in and around Cape Town, but will soon be expanding.The delivery of basic services such as water, sanitation, electricity, schooling, and health care are in urgent need of improvement in many parts the country. Eighteen years after the first democratic elections, progress has been made in expanding access to those who lack it, but in many townships in particular many people continue to go without basic services or receive services of a poor quality.
