Initiative Description
CITE endeavours to promote novel techniques of civic engagement through the utilisation of technology, thereby fostering citizens’ interest in public data and stimulating discussions aimed at enhancing governance. The 2023 CITE election map dashboard has been designed to present current election data in a simplified and comprehensible manner, thereby enabling every citizen to access pertinent information. This platform empowers voters by providing them with access to information that facilitates education and awareness. Specifically, the platform offers data on the 2023 harmonised elections in Zimbabwe for the 2023 election cycle. Users of the platform can select Presidential Candidates and Members of Parliament bios which allow the users to explore their key statements and manifestos. Additionally, the platform provides links to view promises made by politicians through CITE’s promise tracker and FactCheck portal.
