ABOUT

CIVIC TECH INNOVATION NETWORK

CTIN is a community of practice made up of practitioners, leaders, activists, technologists, researchers, and public servants who have an interest and commitment to leveraging the nexus between technology and civic activism.

CTIN is an initiative committed to a society that is more just, equitable, and sustainable. As such, CTIN supports its community’s effective use of appropriate digital technologies and methodologies to connect government and citizens, in public participation, in transparency and accountability, and in delivering public services.

Towards this, CTIN’s activities include convening networking and learning events, such as our annual conference, the Civic Tech Innovation Forum, Peer Learning Events, Webinars and Breakfast Sessions. We also conduct research, track and support organisations and initiatives in civic tech, including through our flagship African civic tech database and case studies project. CTIN also undertakes a range of advocacy and communication activities, including producing a regular newsletter with community information and resources, and a growing presence on social media platforms.

Organisations

Visit our African Civic Tech Atlas, a collection of African civic tech tools, projects and initiatives on citizen participation, citizen engagement tech, open data, govtech, civic data, advocacy tech,  transparency and accountability and more. It’s one of a kind resource for civic tech innovators and civic enthusiasts to learn about the community’s civic tech initiatives.

Network Opportunities

Add your own initiative

We would love to add your initiative to our collection. The African Civic Tech Atlas is a work in progress (and a labour of love) for us but we may miss some initiatives if you have a civic tech initiative you think should be added onto the database.

Case Studies

Submit your case study

Share your civic tech case study with our community! We always welcome any case studies that focus on topics related to civic tech. We would like to share your work far and wide with our community and readers.
