The intersection of civic technologies and African urban challenges

Building on our previous conversations and engagement at Urban Fest in 2020 and #DIYAFRICA in 2021, the Civic Tech Innovation Network (CTIN) proposes to host a panel discussion supplemented by content from the previous conferences. The session aims to highlight the intersection of civic technologies and African urban challenges as well as offer/highlight examples of how civic tech can be leveraged even more effectively around Africa’s urbanisation challenges and opportunities. At the RISE Africa festival, we will look at how civic technologies are helping to create resilient cities. We will look at how civic tech initiatives have stepped in, to connect communities, and give them a voice and hope for the future. Civic Technologies have played their part in regenerating cities and regenerating the faith we have in each other and in our ability to create solutions together as communities and communities of practice.

The session is hosted as part of the Rise Africa Festival
