[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Open data is heralded as a game-changer for transparency and government accountability. Several civic tech organisations in Africa are using open data to allow citizens to hold governments accountable, and thereby drive better service delivery. The session explored how a few organisations in Africa are driving accountability and service delivery using open data technologies.

Two major research insights that emerged from the session:

(I) How to get the government to understand why citizens would want data

(II) How COVID-19 is driving innovation and has been good for the civic tech community[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text="Watch The Session" font_container="tag:h2|text_align:center" google_fonts="font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal"][vc_column_text]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY2NvO0pt08&t=3s[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text="Session Case Studies" font_container="tag:h2|text_align:center" google_fonts="font_family:Lato%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal"][vc_column_text]
