BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INITIATIVE

Developed in close collaboration by the Ministry of Youth, Employment and Citizen Construction, UNICEF and the 18 youth associations of Senegal, U-report is a tool that aims to strengthen the participation of us, young people and our communities. in social and political dialogue by sending thematic questions by SMS to registered members (called U-Reporters), thus making it possible to obtain direct and unbiased opinions on issues of importance to young people.

Registration for U-report is voluntary and takes place by sending a free SMS (regardless of the operator used). U-report consists of two parts:
A platform that allows us to send questions each week by SMS to members’ mobile phones.
A website where poll results are shared live with the general public.

The African Civic Tech Atlas is a work in progress (and a labour of love) for us but we may miss some initiative that needs updating. If your initiative needs to be updated on the database, kindly follow the instructions on the “Update Your Initiative” tab.
